        Install the filters.
  • Voorbereiding

    Choose a light colour for the foreground (I took #f9f9f9 )and choose a dark colour as background colour, I took #233944
    Change the foreground colour into a Foreground-background gradient with settings shown below

    If you use a different tube please resize.



    If you use other colours, feel free to change the opacity and blend mode of the layers



    The lesson

  1. File - New – New Image


  2. Flood fill with the gradient
  3. Effects - plug-in DSB Flux - Gears with settings shown below:
  4. Layers - duplicate
  5. Image - mirror
  6. Image - flip
  7. Activate the layers palette: opacity: 100, blend mode: Darker (or other if you use different colours)
  8. Layers - new raster layer
  9. Selections – load/save selection – load selection from disk and choose my selection Lara_sel_001_191207_tdstudio.PspSelection
  10. Flood fill this selection with the dark background colour #233944 (click the right mouse button to flood fill with the background colour)
  11. Selections – deselect all
  12. Effects - texture effects - texture - choose my texture @nn_texture__blokjes_191207_tdstudio.bmp in the list with settings shown below, colour = white
  13. Activate the layer palette: opacity: 100, blend mode: screen (Overlay gives a nice effect too)
  14. Layers - new raster layer
  15. Selections - load/save selection – load selections from disk and choose selection Lara_sel_002_191207_tdstudio.PspSelection


  16. Flood fill your selections with your dark background colour #233944,
    the selection remains active
  17. Activate your Magic wand with settings shown below: (vervangen = replace - buiten = outside)
  18. Click in the oval on top
  19. Selections - modify - expand with 2 px
  20. Activate your tube and the tube layer
  21. Edit - copy
  22. Activate your working area,
    edit - paste as a new layer ---- SELECTION remains
  23. With the Move tool: move your tube and take some part of the tube, I choose the face:
  24. Selection - invert -and DELETE on your keyboard
  25. Selections –deselect all
  26. Activate your layer with ovals
  27. with your Magic wand click in second oval
  28. Selections - modify - expand with 2 px
  29. Edit - paste as a new layer (your tube is in your pc's memory) ---- SELECTION REMAINS
  30. with your Move tool : move your tube and choose a part of it
  31. Selection - invert and DELETE on your keyboard
  32. Selections –deselect all and this must be the result:
  33. Activate your layer with ovals
  34. Activate your Magic wand and click in the last oval
  35. Selections - modify - expand with 2 px
  36. Repeat: edit - paste as a new layer:
    move your tube and choose a part of it
  37. Selection - invert and DELETE on your keyboard
  38. Selections – deselect all
  39. On your layer palette close the 4 bottom layers, one of the oval layers is active
  40. Layers - merge - merge visibly
  41. Effects - plug-in - Alien Skin Eye Candy 5: Impact - Glass choose my preset:


  42. Layers - Arrab-nge - move down
  43. Open the top layer but leave the merged layer active
  44. Repeat, layers - merge - merge layers visibly
  45. Open all layers from your layer palette, the one on top stays active
  46. Effects - 3D effects - drop shadow with settings shown below, pay attention DROP SHADOW ON NEW LAYER CHECKED
    Colour: choose a light colour #f9f9f9


  47. The shadow layer stays active.
    Effects - geometric effects - circle:


  48. Effects - Image effects - offset:
  49. Activate your layer palette, opacity: 100, blend mode: Soft light
  50. Layers - merge - merge all layers
  51. Layers - new raster layer
  52. Flood fill with your dark background colour #233944
  53. Selections – select all
  54. Selections - modify - contract with 1 px, delete on your keyboard ----- SELECTION remains
  55. Layers: new raster layer
  56. Change the foreground gradient into a solid colour
  57. Flood fill this layer with your light foreground colour
  58. Activate your layer palette, opacity: 50, blend mode normal
  59. Selections - modify - contract with 34 px
  60. Delete on your keyboard ----- SELECTION remains
  61. Layers - new raster layer
  62. Flood fill with your dark background colour #233944
  63. Selections - modify - contract with 1 px, delete on your keyboard
  64. SELECTIONS – DESELECT ALL
  65. Activate your layer palette and close your background layer, merge the other layers visibly. Open your background layer again, the top layer remains active (layer with the transparent border)

  66. Layers - duplicate
  67. Effects - effects geometric - skew with settings shown below:
    Colour: choose your dark colour #233944
  68. Effects - plug-in Alien Skin Eye Candy 5: Impact - Perspective Shadow and choose the preset:
  69. Effects- Plugins - Graphics plus - Cross shadow:


    Result:
  70. Activate the tube, Edit, Copy
  71. Activate your working area, edit - paste as a new layer
  72. Image resize:
  73. With your Move tool: move to the right bottom corner
  74. Effects - 3D effects - drop shadow with settings shown below:
    Colour: BLACK
  75. Image –add borders and choose your light colour :
  76. Image – add borders but choose your darkest colour:


    Result:
  77. Activate your Magic wand with the same settings as before

    Click in thze dark border
  78. Effecs- texture effects- fur:
  79. Adjust - sharpness - sharpen
  80. Selections - invert
  81. Edit - copy
  82. Edit - paste as a new IMAGE --- Put it a side but do not close
  83. Activate your working area ----- YOUR SELECTION is still active
  84. Layers - new raster layer
  85. Selections - select all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  86. Flood fill with your light colour #f9f9f9
  87. Selections - modify contract with 67 px and DELETE on your keyboard
  88. Selections - deselect
  89. Effects - geometric effects - skew but take these settings
  90. Activate your layer palette, opacity: 20, blend mode normal
  91. With your Magic wand and the same settings click in the empty space
  92. Layers - new raster layer
  93. Selections - modify - select: selection borders


  94. ZOOM IN to Flood fill this selection with your light foreground colour
  95. Selections - deselect
  96. Activate text pspfile: @nn_250508_TEXT_tdstudio.pspimage
  97. Edit - Copy - Paste as new layer
  98. Move tool, move to left bottom corner
  99. Layers - New Rasterlayer
  100. Search for the following brush :
    keep standaerd settings
    place with light foreground color
  101. In your layerpalette: activate brush layer: opacity: 30, blend mode: Soft light
  102. Layers - New Rasterlayer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    With Brush tool select this brush:
    eveneens met de standaardinstellingen
    Stamp on this place with dark background color #233944 --- ›
  103. Effects - 3D effects -Inner bevel:
    Color White
  104. Effects - iPlugins - Alien Skin Eye Candy 5: Impact - perspective shadow tab SETTINGS choose my preset:


  105. Activate the minimized image (item 82)
  106. Image - Resize :
    ---- ››
  107. Effects -Plugins - unlimited 2.0:
  108. This little frame, edit - copy
  109. Activate your working area, edit - paste as a new layer DO NOT TOUCH
  110. Effects - Image effects - offset:
  111. Activate the tube @nn_191207_chain-silver_tdstudio.pspimage
    Edit - copy
  112. Activate your working area, edit - paste as a new layer
  113. With your Move tool place it correctly:
  114. Layers - merge - merge down
  115. Effects - 3D effects - drop shadow and choose the preset --- › ›STANDARD
  116. Activate your text tool and select the font:

    Swap colors and close foreground material:

  117. Type your text, I choose Lara
  118. Layers – promote to raster layer
  119. Effects - plug-in - Mura's Meister Copies with h settings shown below:
    Your BG Colour = light colour #f9f9f9
    If you have a different text, play with “NUMBER”
  120. Image - free rotate :
  121. With your Move tool - put the rotated text on the right place: :
  122. Layer palette: opacity: 100, blend mode: soft light
  123. Effects - 3D effects - drop shadow::
  124. Remove overflowing text with the lasso or with the eraser tool:
  125. Layers - duplicate
  126. Image - mirror - Image - flip
    move if necessary
  127. Layers - merge - merge all layers
  128. Effects – illumination effects - lights and choose my preset:
  129. Selections - select all
  130. Selections - modify - select selection borders same settings - clickOK
  131. Flood fill your selection with your light colour , and deselect
  132. Save as a jpg
