- Preparation
Put your foreground color on a light color, I took #6f95b4, and the background color on a darker one such as #222939
(If you choose other colors , take compatible colors with little contrast)
Switch foreground color to gradient:

To start, our material palette looks like this:

- We start with the background made for this lesson. Open background:
@nn_060309_BG_Matisse_tdstudio.jpg

- Window - duplicate, close the original and continue with the copy
- Layers - new raster layer
- Activate the selection tool - custom selection with settings shown below
copy these values:

- Flood fill with the gradient
- Selections – deselect all
- Effects - distortion effects – displacement map with settings shown below:
Choose tin foil (corel_15_047.bmp)

- Effects - 3D effects - drop shadow with settings shown below

This is your result:

- Layers - new raster layer
- Again selection tool: custom selection but change the values as follows:

This is your result::

- Flood fill with the dark background color (click the right button of your mouse)
- Selections - deselect all
- Activate the layer palette, opacity: 100%, blend mode: soft light:

- Layers - merge – merge visibly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Effects - distortion effects - warp with settings shown below:

This is your result:

- Layers - new raster layer
- Selection – load/save selection – load selection from disk and choose:
@nn_070309_Selection001_Matisse_tdstudio

- Activate your image called: matisse_eyes.jpg
Edit - copy
- Activate your working area
Edit - paste into selection (selection stays active)
- Activate the layer palette, opacity: 75%, blend mode normal:

- Layers - new raster layer
- Activate the text file: @nn_060309_tekst_Matisse.pspimage
Edit - copy
- Activate your working area
Edit - paste into selection
- Activate the layer palette, opacity: 45, blend mode: normal:

This is your result::

- Selections - deselect all
- Adjust - sharpen - sharpen
- Activate the file: @nn_070309_accent_pijl_matisse_tdstudio.pspimage
Edit - copy
- Activate your working area
Edit - paste as a new layer
- Effects - image effects - offset with settings shown below:

- Effects - plug-in - EC 5: Impact - perspective shadow on tab SETTINGS choose my preset:

- Layers - duplicate
- Effects - reflection effects - rotating mirror with settings shown below:

This is your result::

- Activate the layer palette and decrease the opacity with 60%

- Pay attention to the following steps
Window duplicate and minimize
Continue with the original

- Activate the tube: @nn_060309_photos_Matisse_tdstudio.pspimage
Edit - copy
- Activate your working area
Edit - paste as a new layer
- Move a little see print screen:

- Effects - plug-in EC 5: impact - perspective shadow choose my preset:

- Activate the file: @nn_070309_accent_haken_matisse_tdstudio.pspimage
Edit - copy
- Activate your working area
Edit - paste as a new layer
- Effects - plug-in EC 5: impact - perspective shadow and choose my preset:

- Image - mirror
- Again: move a little:

- Layers - merge – merge all layers
- Image – resize with following settings:

- Image –add borders 1px color WHITE:

- This little frame, edit - copy
- Activate your minimized working area:

- Edit - paste as a new layer
This is your result: follow my steps carefully.

- Image – rotate free:

- Layers - duplicate
- Effects - distortion effects - wind with settings shown below:

- Layers – merge - merge down !!!!!!!!
This is your result::

- Image – free rotate, rotate to the right this time:

- Effects - image effects - offset:

This is your result::

- Layers – duplicate
- Image - mirror
- Effects - image effects - offset:

This is your result::

- Layers - new raster layer
- Activate the brush tool and choose my brush: @nn_060309_brush_Matisse_001_tdstudio
with settings shown below:

- Stamp the brush next to the frame with a white foreground color:


- Layers - duplicate
- Image - mirror
- Move the brush to the other side of the frame:


- Layers - new raster layer
- Again: brush tool and choose: @nn_060309_brush_Matisse_002_tdstudio
with settings shown below:

Stamp as shown below:

- Layers - new raster layer
- Again: brush tool and choose: @nn_060309_brush_Matisse_003_tdstudio
with settings shown below:

- Activate your working area
Edit - paste as a new layer
- Effects - plug-in - EC5: impact - persp. shadow tab SETTINGS and select:

- With the move tool, move as follows:

- Activate the tube: @nn_060309_photos_Matisse_tdstudio.pspimage
Edit - copy
- Activate your working area
Edit - paste as a new layer
- move again see print screen:

- Effects - plug-in - EC5: Impact - perspective shadow and select:

- Window - duplicate --> (copy necessary to make our background)
- continue with the original
- Layers - merge – merge all layers
- Effects - Richard Rosenman - Solid border:
Color: White

- Activate the copy you made for the background
- Delete (or make invisible) following layers: vrouwtube (tube with the lady), hakentube (tube with the hooks), 2 frames and the text "Matisse"
You should have this result:

- Layers – merge – merge all layers
- Effects - image effects – seamless tiling:

- Layers - duplicate
- Adjust - blur – Gaussian blur: radius: 12
- Layer palette: opacity: 50%

- merge all layers and save both your images as JPG
