Beautiful Nature


This lesson was written by Jille on November 17, 2009 in the English version of PSP XII. It can be made in other versions as well

As I followed my own ideas, any resemblance with an existing lesson is merely a coincidence.

Supplies

You will need: 1 background, 4 tubes, 4 fonts and my selection

Filters

Mura Meister - Copies here

Preparation

Install your filter into your filter map
Minimize your fonts in the toolbar or install them in your map on disc C
Extract your selection into your map Selections
Open your PSP program after installation
Open your tubes and your background in the PSP program and minimize them for now
Materials - Take a dark color for the foreground (I took #664c27 ) and a lighter one for the background (I took #cba958 )

The Lesson

Step 1
Maximize the background jhanna_166-background
Edit - Copy
Close the background

Step 2
File - New - New Image - Transparent checked
We start with a large image and we will resize later

Selections - Select All
Edit - Paste Into Selection
Selections - Select None

Step 3
In this lesson we will play with Text
We start by placing Text around the circle on the right of our background
.
Materials: close the background color
Activate your Ellipse Tool

with these settings ( Create On VECTOR checked )

Draw a circle with +/- the same size as the circle on the background
You may draw it anywhere

If you do not see the frame around the circle, than click on it with your right mouse button and choose "Edit Mode". Click in the middle of the circle and move it to its place. In the same mode you can adjust the size if necessary.
If that is done, go back to Draw Mode (right mouse button click in the middle of the circle)

Step 4
Open the background color again and close the foreground color
Materials: click on the little arrow and switch the colors. The dark color is now the background color

Activate the text tool and place your cursor "A" on the ellipse
move the mouse gently until you see a little bow below the "A", than click with your left mouse button and you are ready to write your text.

with these settings: Bodoni MT size 28 create on Vector
If you work with an earlier version than PSP 12 you will  have to adapt the size


Write your texte: I wrote: "There is beauty everywhere just look around you "

Layer palette: click on the lttle + of the Vector layer to open it

close the layer New Ellipse
Click right on the Vector 1 layer - Convert to Raster Layer

Step 5
The material of the foreground is still closed , switch colors again, the light color is again on the background color

Text Tool - with these settings - Font Backspace size 150 - create on Vector
If you work with an earlier version than PSP 12 you will  have to adapt the size

write the letter B in capital
Layer palette : Convert to Raster Layer
Effects - Texture Effects - blinds - with these settings

With the Move Tool - move to the left and to the top

Step 6
Text Tool - with the same font but with size 250 we write the letter N in capital
If you work with an earlier version than PSP 12 you will  have to adapt the size

Layer palette - Convert to raster Layer
Effects - Texture Effects - Blinds - same settings
With the Move Tool - place the letter N under the letter B
Layers - Merge - Merge Down
Effects – 3D Effects – Drop Shadow with these settings

tip: to switch the colors easily click with the right mouse button in the color box and you get a pop-up with the foreground and the background color, as well as the recently used colors

Step 7
Materials: switch colors again: dark color is the background color

Text Tool - with the font Bickham Script - size 72

write Beautiful
Layer palette: Convert to raster layer
Effects - 3D Effects - Drop Shadow – same settings 
Image – Free Rotate – Right 90° with these settings

Step 8
Text Tool - write Nature with the same settings
Layer palette: Convert to raster layer
Effects - 3D Effects - same dropshadow
With the Move Tool - move to its place see example

Layers - Merge - Merge Down
Edit - Repeat Layers Merge Down
The 4 text layers are on the same layer now

Step 9
Text Tool - with the font ArborisFolium - size 100 - and these settings

type G H in capitals (1 space between the two letters)
Layer palette: Convert to raster layer
Effects - Plugins - Mura Meister - Copies - with these settings

With the Move Tool - move to the left
This is the result

Layer Palette - change the blend mode into dodge

Step 10
Time to add some tubes
Maximize the tube jhanna_17b_misted tube
Venster - dupliceren
Highlight the tube layer
Image - Mirror
With the Selection Tool
make a rectangular selection around the head

Edit - Copy
You may close without saving

Step11
On your working area: Layers - New Raster layer
Selections - Load/Save Selection - Load Selection from Disk - select my selection beautiful_nature1
Edit - Paste Into Selection
Selections - Invert
Push the Delete key on your keyboard
Selections - Select None
Layer palette - Opacity of this layer 80

Step 12
Maximize the tube jhanna_229_tubes
Window - duplicate
Close the original and proceed with the copy
Close or delete the background layer and the watermark layer
Image - Resize - 50% - Resize all layers checked
There are two layers with a leaf
highlight the layer tube 1
Edit - copy
On your working area - Edit - Paste as New layer
Proceed the same way with the layer tube 2
You may close without saving

Step 13
On your working area
With the Move Tool - put the two leaves on a nice spot
Layers - Merge - Merge down
The two leaves are on the same layer now
Layer palette : blend mode Luminance(Legacy)

Step 14
Maximize the tube 8e20092.pspimage with the rabbit
Close the original and proceed with the copy
Image - Resize - 50%
With the Freehand Selection Tool

make a selection around the watermark
Push the Delete key on your keyboard
Selections - Select None
Edit - Copy
You may close the tube without saving

Step 15
On your working area
Move the rabbit to the left and to the bottom of your tag
Layer palette - Blend mode overlay and opacity of the layer = 50

Close the original and proceed with the copy
Highlight the tube layer
Image - Mirror
Edit - Copy
You may close without saving

Step 17
On your working area: Edit Paste as New Layer
Effects - 3D Effects - Drop Shadow - with these settings

Step 18
The watermark - I wrote mine this way
Materials - Switch colors - The light color is now your background color

Text Tool - With the font Bodoni MT and these settings

Write your name and text
Effects - 3D Effects - Drop Shadow - same settings as before
Layers - Merge - Merge All (Flatten)

Step 20
Image - Resize - I resized to 750 pixels width
resize more if that suits you better

Step21
Materials : open the Foreground color
Image - Add Borders - Symmetric checked
5 pixels foreground Color
With the Magic Wand Tool and these settings

select the border
Effects - 3D Effects - Inner Bevel with these settings

Selection - Select None

Step 22
Image - Add Borders - Symmetric checked
15 pixels background color
With the Magic Wand Tool same settings as before
select the border
Effects - Texture Effects - Blinds

Selections - Select None

Step 23
Image - Add Borders - Symmetric checked
5 pixels foreground Color
With the Magic Wand Tool - same settings - select the border
Effects - 3D Effects - Inner Bevel with these settings
Selections - Select None

Step 24
Save as – give-a-name.jpeg
