Autumn


This lesson was written by Jille on September 18th 2010 in the Dutch version from PSP 13. The lesson can be made in other versions as well.

Preparation
Install the filter
Extract the selections in the map Selections
Minimize the font
Open the PSP program
Import brush in your map with brushes
Open tubes and images in the program and minimize
Materials
I choose #d9caa3 for the foreground and #907852 for the background

Change Foreground color into FG-BG gradient with these settings

The lesson

  1. File - New - New image transparent checked
  2. Flood fill with the gradient
  3. Adjust - Blur - Radial blur - Radius 50
  4. Effects - Plugins - Virtual Painter 4 with these settings



  5. Layers - Duplicate
  6. Image - Resize - 90% - Smart size - Resize all layers not checked
  7. Effects - 3D Effects - Drop Shadow

    and repeat with

  8. Layers - new Raster layer
  9. Selections - load/save selection - load selection from disk and load Fall_1
  10. Flood fill selection with the gradient
  11. Adjust - Blur - Radial blur - Radius 50
  12. Layer palette - Blend Mode = Screen and opacity = 42
  13. Layers - new Raster layer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  15. Selection tool - make a rectangular selection. The frame and the watermark should not be included
  16. Edit - Copy and close
  17. On your working area - Paste into selection
  18. Layer palette - Blend mode Luminance (Legacy) and Opacity = 40
  19. Layers - new Raster layer !!!!!!
    call this layer kader (Frame)
  20. Material palette - background color = #322419 and replace the foreground gradient with the light solid color
    material palette looks like this
  21. Selections - Modify - Select selection borders

  22. Flood fill with the dark background color
  23. Effects - 3D Effects - Inner bevel
  24. Effects - 3D Effects - Drop Shadow
  25. Selections - Deselect all
  26. Open the tube Kat_0671
  27. Edit - Copy and close
  28. On your working area - Paste as new layer
  29. Move tool - drag to the top left
    Example
  30. Layer palette - Arrange - move down
  31. Activate raster kader (Frame)(= top layer)
  32. Open the tube bloemenvaas_wisdom_designs.pspimage
  33. Edit - Copy and close
  34. On your working area - Edit - Paste as new layer
  35. Move tool - move a little to the right and down
  36. Effects - 3D Effects - Drop Shadow

  37. Layers - new Raster layer!!!!
  38. Activate the brush tool - pay attention to the size 300

    and load Koortsdreun_VDW
    If you cannot open the brush you can use the file Koortsdreun_gedicht.pspimage and use that instead
  39. Stamp the brush with the dark background color on the left see example

  40. Layers - new Raster layer
  41. Selections - load/save selection - load selection from disk and load Fall_2
  42. Selections - Modify - Select the selection borders - same settings
  43. Flood fill with the dark background color
  44. Selections - load/save selection - load selection from disk and load Fall_2 again
  45. Open the image afbeelding_bos
  46. Edit - Copy - do not close
  47. On your working area - Edit - Paste as new layer
  48. Move tool - Drag the image under the selection and choose a nice spot
  49. Selections - Invert
  50. Push delete key on your keyboard.
  51. Selections - Deselect all.
  52. Layers - new Raster layer
  53. Selections - load/save selection - load selection from disk and load Fall_3
  54. Selections - Modify - Select the selection borders - same settings
  55. Flood fill with the dark background color
  56. Selections - load/save selection - load selection from disk and load Fall_3 again
  57. Open the image "afbeelding_bos" again
  58. Image - Mirror
  59. Edit - Copy - and close without saving
  60. On your working area - Edit - Paste as new layer
  61. Move tool - Drag the image under the selection and choose a nice spot
  62. Selections - Invert
  63. Push delete key on your keyboard.
  64. Selections - Deselect all.
  65. Open the tube calguisepideble3710
  66. Edit - Copy - and close
  67. On your working area - Edit - Paste as new layer
  68. Image - Resize - 50% - Smart size - Resize all layers not checked
    and repeat with70%
  69. Image - Mirror
  70. Move tool -move to the top right
  71. Effects - 3D Effects - Drop Shadow - same settings
  72. Layer palette - Opacity 45
  73. Preparation for the text - Material palette: close the foreground color and change the background color see print screen
  74. Activate the Text tool with these settings

    Write Autumn (Herfst)
  75. Click the check mark to apply
  76. Move to a nice place
  77. Layer palette - Convert to raster layer
  78. Effects - 3D Effects - Drop Shadow

  79. Material palette - replace the background color with this color #322419
  80. Effects - Texture Effects - Blinds - same dark color #322419
  81. Activate Text tool again with these settings

    and write a smaller text on the bottom right "Weemoed met een gouden randje" (= sadness with a golden line)
  82. Click the check mark to apply
  83. Move to a nice place
  84. Layer palette - Convert to raster layer
  85. Effects - 3D Effects - Drop Shadow -same settings, but color = light foreground color.
  86. Layers - Merge - merge all (flatten)
  87. Image - Add Borders - Symmetric checked - 1 pixels dark color
  88. Add Watermark
  89. File - Save As- Give_a_name.jpg
