Lady Christina

This lesson was written by Jille in the Dutch version of PSP XI
on Sunday 17 January 2010.
For this translation, I made some print screens in PSP version 12 (English)

The lesson

Step 1
File - New - new image from 800 - 600 pixels - transparent checked


Flood Fill Tool: flood fill your image with the background color
Layers - New Raster Layer
Flood Fill Tool: flood fill your new layer with the foreground color

Step 2
The mask @nn_SB2_MASK1623_tdstudio stays minimized on your PSP workspace
Make sure your working area is active
Layers - New Mask Layer - From Image

You may close this mask

Step 3
On your working area
Layer palette: Merge - Merge Group
Layers - Duplicate
Image - Mirror
Layer palette: Opacity of this layer = 59 and blend mode Burn

This is the result

Step 4
Layer palette - activate Group Raster 2 (layer in the middle)
Effectes - plugins - Penta.com - color dot

Step 5
Material of the foreground: I took #fcf900
Material of the background: I took #000a45

Step 6
Highlight the top layer
With your Pen tool and these settings

Draw a line as shown below

If you are satisfied with the result click on the check mark in the top menu

Layer palette : Convert to Raster Layer

Step 7
Selections - Load/Save Selections- Load Selection from Disk

Step 8
Open the scenery tube1836-luzcristina
Activate the tube layer
Edit - Copy
Close the tube

Step 9
On your working area
Edit - Paste as New Layer !!!
With the Move Tool : drag the tube under the selection - see example

Selections - Invert
Edit - Clear (or hit the delete key on your keyboard)
Selections - Select None

Step 10
Layers - Duplicate
Image - Mirror
and once more
Layers - Duplicate
Image - Flip
This is the result

Step 11
Maximize the lady tube1464-luzcristina
Activate the tube layer
Edit - Copy
Close the tube

On your working area
Edit - Paste as New Layer
With the Move tool - place on the left see example

Step 13
Maximise the tube despair_vivarant
Activate tube layer Full (the one in the middle)
Edit - Copy
Close the tube

Step 14
Layers - New Raster Layer
Selections - Load/Save Selections- Load Selection from Disk

Edit - Paste into Selection
With the Eraser tool and these settings

I removed a spider and ashes from the cigaret

Step 15
Effects - Plugins - <I.C.Net - Software> Filters Unlimited
Color filters RGB Balance

Selections - Select None
Adjust - Sharpness - Sharpen
Effects -3D Effects- Drop Shadow with these settings

Layer palette - opacity 50

Step 16
Maximize the tube with the red flower 2024 flower 35 AR 821®Alejandra Rosales-11-2-07
Activate the tube layer
Edit - Copy
Close the tube

Step 17
On your working area
Edit - Paste as New Layer
Image - Mirror
Move tool - put the tube in the bottom corner on the right

Step 18
Material palette: Switch the colors, dark blue stays in front and background color = white (#ffffff)

With the text tool and these settings
Font Broadway- size 48 Pixels - Sharp - vector checked

Type the text- Love me another day - or a text of your choice
Layer palette - convert to Raster Layer
Effects- Texture Effects -Blinds with these settings

and repeat with horizontal checked

Step 19
Image - Free Rotate- 45° left

Move the text to its place
Effects- 3D Effects -Drop Shadow with these settings

Layer palette -Blend Mode- Luminance(L)


Step 20
Layers - Merge - Merge All (Flatten)
Selections - Load/Save Selections- Load Selection from Disk

Image - Crop to Selection

Step 21
Image -Add Borders- symmetric checked
8 pixels background color
Image -Add Borders- symmetric checked
30 pixels green color #359771
With the Magic Wand Tool - select this border


Step 22
Effects- Plugins - Penta.com - color dot
same settings as used before

Step 23
Selections - Invert
Selections - Modify - Contract with 8 pixels
Effects- 3D effects -cutout with these settings - color = black

Repeat Cutout with Vertical and Horizontal = -5
Selections - Select None

Step 24
Image -Add Borders- symmetric checked
2 pixels yellow #eef60a
Put your watermark

Step 25
Image - Resize
800 pixels or smaller- Intelligent
File - Save as - jpg

So we are done
